Is this how we want the allotment site to look!

On walking around the site I have noticed that when
plot holders leave discarded or spare materials
on the communal areas there appears to be an attraction for other materials & rubbish to migrate to these areas. Making the whole site look untidy & uncared for

What can we do about this?

Keep wanted materials on your plot !

Take your own rubbish away to the tip or dustbin at home!

Place rubbish in agreed bins by the green container!

Lets remember this is our environment where we all come to relax and enjoy ourselves.

May be there are other ideas and thoughts on how to manage and improve the allotment site ???

Hi Trevor,

I think that we need a skip to dispose of the rubbish lying around the site. On some plots there are pieces of glass and dangerous bits of metal that need clearing.

Also people bring things onto the site that they think might be useful and end up being dumped there. There is some sort of bookstand in the bus shelter and some old oil barrels by the loos which are very unsightly.

Let's get the committee to authorise payment for a skip.

Next months working party could undertake the task of clearing all the communal areas of rubbish and putting in to a skip for removing from site.

At a committee meeting on 5th October the committee rejected the suggestion of a skip on the grounds of it being too expensive and poor value for money. Phil will remove dangerous items such as broken glass using the trailer. Could everyone else remove their own rubbish and place green waste that cannot be composted in the green bins.
